Medals awardd to Mick during his service

Micky M ex 2LI Assault / Pioneers Says:-

I was in SP Coy 75- Mick Kelly was a Full CPL in Mortar platoon, a good bloke but liked his pop, but always had time for people.

I dont think he went to Ballykinler with the battalion after Lemgo.

                  ---------------------------

Hi Russ not much more about Mick Kelly that I can add.

He came from Askern was a big mate off Brin Reed, Harry Faulkner, Billy Deer Mick did serve in Ballykinler if I remember he was in charge of the indoor range.

He died of Cancer in BMH Woolwich 1980 I think not certain of the date ?

As for the four bars to his medal most of B coy had four, its five bars that's rare the fifth being Radfan and I believe George Cook had five he got is when he was attached to the FNG.

Mick was a good mate, true he liked is drink, but never caused any trouble drunk or sober.
