Ken Sweatman passed away in 1993 with cancer

Hi :-  CEDE (Les Parkin),

Thank you for for kind remarks, I would be very happy for you to set up a page for my father, as I know he he had the best times of his life whilst serving in the K.O.Y.L.I.  and later in The Light Infantry and he often talked about the men he served with and had great respect for them.

Sorry for not replying sooner but I am currently in Thailand with a +7 hour time difference.

Thanks and kind regards,

Daz.
(Kens son)

Russ Snood says :-

Your dad was a brilliant training sergeant, and a good laugh.

Our platoon ( Gibralter platoon 1964 ) bought him a lighter as a thank you gift when we passed out of basic at Shrewsbury.

His drill parades were something else !!

I am sure all us ex KOYLI s of Gibralter Platoon ( Eddie Smith, Lenny Harvey, Sam Grenfill, Mick Varley , Kieth Gilllian , Dizzy Williams , Harold Kingsley, Jim Stevenson, and myself ) who he trained will never forget him.
