Pauline Cox, John's wife
says: -
John was born in a village called
St Merryn near Padstow in Cornwall, he was a kind and loving
husband, a perfect father to our children, we miss him so very
much.

All his army friends had nothing but praise for John, he was
respected and liked by all who knew him.
We know that
John will be happy being back in the village where he was born, St
Merryn.
John's
spirit lives on, in the village and County of his birth
'God Bless and keep you John, you will
'Never be forgotten' !!
Your loving wife Pauline, Loving daughter Carri-Anne,
Loving Son Wayne, daughter in law Diane, and Grandchildren, Mathew, Leah-Mae,
Courtney, Ashley
and Lennon-William born 25th June 2007

Jim Lancaster remembers:-
A little story
John came to our flat in Germany a quiet knock on the door. I
opened the door and There was John 'hey op John you ok ?' 'Yes' he said.
Then he said its 'Pauline's birthday are you coming for a quiet
drink ?'
So Ruth and I said of course, so of we went down to John and
Pauline's house, SOME quiet drink I think it was about seven or eight
o'clock the next morning we hung up our beer bottles, by it was a
good night.
I can tell you many more stories but it would take
until the rest of my time to tell you, about such a great bloke even now
I still miss him.
That's it now, getting a bit teary you know what.

Les Parkin remembers John:-
Always known John to have a smile on his face, he was a good
friend and really helped my wife Ah-Noi in Colchester when she
wanted to learn to drive a car.
She felt at ease with John and she passed her driving test
first time after John helped in accompanying her on trips around
the estate in the car.
John was a member of he Barnsley Branch of the KOYLI, he helped
out in all the tasks in running the branch, he carried the
colours at events such as the Minden day, other events all over
the country.
He was a security guard at my local branch of the CO-OP for a
period, he was loved by all the staff and they missed him terribly
when he left.
John suffered in later years with a stroke, his family came to his
aid and cared for him, until that terrible day when he was taken
from us on the 30th December 2003, I have always believed that a
spirit is passes into a new life, where he/she can again meet
their loved ones.
God bless
