The STRONGEST I have ever known (Says Les)

 

The last time I saw and spoke to Fred was in Barnsley in 1976 - 77, I had organised the first get together of the KOYLI - 2LI I had never known how many blokes would come but my wife AhNoi and Betty Bate made a small buffet as we had no money, it was an informal get together There must have been an 100 or more mates who turned up, the Drill Hall bar was overwhelmed by my thirsty mates, the caretaker was a very happy man. It was a great night, I had a quick chat with Fred he was a very nice person, a good bloke to be stood with in case of trouble ha ha Reg Humphries organised the he next get together at the Wakefield drill Hall.
