Passed away 28th April 2004

 

Ronnie Gell :-

I remember your Grand Dad from our service in the regiment

II also knew him when he had  finished his army service and settled down in Colchester.

He worked on security for The Laith Company at the Hythe, Colchester...I Had a couple of lunches with him !!...

To put it clearly...he was a warm Bugga .........I was sorry to hear of his passing

II had great respect for your Grandad,
 During short periods I spent in his company when he was on the Regimental Police.

He was Fair and even handed all round,

He was always good for a smoke break and ten minutes rest.

I knew your grandfather Arthur well he was in the Regimental Police when I knew him, I was a bugler early in my service and spent hours in his company  -- a very nice person, always even handed to everyone including the prisoners under his charge.

He will be sadly missed by all his KOYLI colleagues
